Black Medic is a low growing, broadleaf annual plant that can become a winter to summer weed in garden beds, unfertilized lawns and open areas. Dark green leaves are divided into three small, oblong leaflets that resemble clover. Plants are prostrate but can reach over a foot high if not mowed. Tiny yellow, pea-shaped flowers form tight clusters from spring to summer followed by blackish seed pods.
